Games like Framed

Framed shows a single frame from a movie and asks you to name the film. Every miss or skip reveals another still from the same movie, up to six, and the earlier you get it, the better your result. The appeal is recognizing a film from a detail: a color palette, a costume or a piece of set dressing you did not know you remembered.

Alternatives here reveal a film, a show or a game a little at a time and ask you to recognize it before the clues run out. Games that use screenshots or clips the way Framed does come first, followed by ones that swap pictures for dialogue, plot keywords, emoji or cast details.

Questions

How many guesses do you get in Framed?

Six. Framed begins with one still and adds a new frame each time you miss or pass, so by the last try you have seen six images from the same movie. Skipping is a legitimate move when a frame gives you nothing, since it costs a guess but buys a fresh look at the film.

Does Framed have other modes?

Yes. Alongside the main game, Framed runs spin-off modes such as a one-frame challenge, a title-shot round and a poster round. If you prefer moving or episodic clues, the Giffle games use short GIFs from one episode of a TV series, and WhenTaken Movies asks where and when a still is set.

What if I like TV shows or games more than movies?

Guess The Game applies the same screenshot reveal to video games, AniGuessr has a screenshot mode for anime, and the two Giffle games cover Friends and The Simpsons with GIFs from a single episode. All of them show you more after a miss, the same rhythm that makes Framed work.
