What MLB Pickle is
A baseball take on the guess-the-player format, MLB Pickle gives you nine tries to name one hidden major leaguer. Every player you enter fills a row that is checked against the mystery man, column by column, so you can see whether his club, position, age and birthplace line up, which hand he bats and throws with, and how his league and division compare.
How a round works
Start typing a name; the search box needs at least two letters before it suggests players, and a Pick for me button fills in a guess on your behalf, which still uses one of the nine. Each guess adds a row of seven cells under column headings that run from Team and Lg./Div. through to Pos., with a counter such as 2 of 9 above. A green outline marks an exact match. A gold dashed outline means something partial: the player is in the right league or the right division, his age is within two years, or the listed position is the target's secondary one. Find him before the ninth guess is spent.

- MLB Wordle: MLB Wordle hunts a hidden big leaguer too, though its columns add height and league experience instead of batting hand or birthplace, with eight tries or 15 in Classic.
- Batter Up: Batter Up also targets an MLB hitter and compares misses on age, position, club and division, but it starts from a dark video of the hitter's stance at the plate.
- Poeltl: Poeltl is the basketball version of this format, run by the NBA players' union, with eight attempts and columns for height, jersey number and conference.
- Immaculate Grid: Baseball: Immaculate Grid: Baseball draws on the same knowledge in another shape: nine squares, each needing a player who fits its team or stat clues, with rarer picks scoring better.
