There is no single time. Of the 89 games here that publish when their next puzzle appears, 35 turn over at midnight on each player's own clock, 17 at midnight UTC (7:00 p.m. EST, 8:00 p.m. EDT in New York), 25 at midnight New York time, and 12 at another fixed hour.

A game that changes over at midnight UTC does it at the same instant everywhere, and in the Americas that instant falls in the evening: 7:00 p.m. in New York and 4:00 p.m. in Los Angeles during standard time, an hour later on the clock during daylight time.

For a game on UTC, yes, as seen from the US: the changeover stays at 00:00 UTC, so it moves from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in New York when the clocks go forward in March and back in November. Games that follow your own midnight, or New York midnight, keep the same local time all year.

There is no single worldwide changeover for Wordle. Each player gets the new puzzle at their own local midnight, which in New York means 12:00 a.m. Eastern time.

Connections turns over at local midnight: whatever time zone your phone or computer is set to decides when the next one appears. On the US East Coast that is 12:00 a.m. ET.

Strands follows the clock on your own device: the next puzzle unlocks at midnight wherever you are, so a player in New York gets it at 12:00 a.m. Eastern time, hours after players in Europe.
