What Patchdle is
Patchdle turns the changelogs of real video games into a guessing puzzle: you read entries from one game's patch notes and work out which game they belong to. Notes appear singly, each tagged with a version number or date and a label such as a fix or a balance change, and you have six guesses to spend.
How a round works
One note is showing when you arrive. Search for a title, choose it from the list and press Guess; a miss uncovers another note, and Skip does the same while using up a guess. Near misses are flagged: pick a game from the right franchise, or one from the same developers, and the row says so, which narrows the field without naming anything. Any other wrong answer leaves you with just the notes. Puzzles change over at 05:00 in Oslo, and every earlier one, numbered and dated, sits in a free archive with a Random button. The credit line reads Made by Medhus, next to a Ko-fi link.
When Patchdle resets
The next Patchdle puzzle goes live at 5:00 a.m. in Oslo, which is 11:00 p.m. in New York for most of the year.
When the other daily games reset is on one page of reset times.
Good if you like…
- Steamdle: Steamdle runs the same six-guess hunt for a video game's title, but its clues are Steam user reviews, while Patchdle hands you the developers' own change notes.
- Guess The Game: Guess The Game keeps six tries and an extra clue per miss or skip, but each clue is a screenshot, so you judge how the game looks rather than what was patched.
- Gamedle Keywords: Gamedle Keywords also gives six lives and also tells you when a guess shares the answer's franchise, but it builds the picture from keywords, a pixelated cover and emojis.
- Questle: Questle asks for a video game title as well, allowing ten tries instead of six and holding back a screenshot hint until the fifth guess.
