About Paint Chips
In Paint Chips, a single color fills the card for five seconds and then disappears. Your job is to rebuild it on a color picker: drag across the colors to find the shade you remember, and use the slider to push it toward gray if the original looked muted. When you think you have it, press Mix to lock it in.
There are five colors each day, and every player gets the same five, so your results can be set against everyone else's. Each mix is scored on how close it lands to the real shade. The palette is swapped for a new one at midnight New York time.
How to play
- Study the color carefully during its five seconds on screen.
- Drag across the picker to find the closest shade you remember.
- Use the slider to make the color grayer if the original was muted.
- Press Mix to lock in your answer and see how near it came.
Tips
- Name the color in your head, such as dusty teal or brick red, to help it stick after it disappears.
- Pay attention to how bright or dull the color looks, not just its hue; muted shades are easy to overshoot.
Time and controls
A round takes about 2–3 minutes. Drag on the picker with a finger or a mouse, use the slider for grayness, then press Mix.
