What Seedle is
Seedle gives you a farm plot and a tray of crop and booster tiles, and every tile has to go somewhere on the grid, working around rocks that take up a few squares. Each card prints its own scoring rule, tied to its neighbors, its column or the tiles beside and above it, so the puzzle lies in finding the layout where those rules add up to the biggest harvest.
How a round works
The opening tutorial covers the basics: every tile must be placed, a tile's value depends on where it sits (its example earns 5 in the center and 15 in a corner), boosters are worth nothing themselves yet raise the crops around them, and the target is an S rank. Crop cards list a base value and a bonus, such as extra points for each matching crop sharing their column. Boosters can add to adjacent crops, take points from a particular neighbor such as Cactus, or double every crop in their column. The tray counts the tiles still to place, and Harvest scores the finished board against the highest possible total, graded from F up to S.
Good if you like…
- Pile-Up Poker: Placement scoring on a grid again, with playing cards in place of crops: every row, every column and the corner set count as poker hands, and cards arrive one at a time.
- Sudoker: Also judges a whole layout at once: you shuffle playing cards around a grid until its rows and columns form stronger poker hands, much as Seedle rewards crops for their column.
- Dodeku: Another tile-placing grid, but with numbers that must make every sum correct, and a move counter in place of a harvest score and letter rank.
- Campsite: Shares the habit of thinking about neighbors and columns on a small outdoor grid, though tents beside trees either fit the rules or not, with no points to maximize.
