Games like Crowdle

Updated

Crowdle, made by PZL Games, asks ten thousand people the same prompt and then has you work out which four replies were the most common. On a day when the prompt was another word for fast, the obvious synonyms were the ones to chase. Guesses are unlimited, three hints each uncover one more letter, and anything you type that the crowd said but not often enough for the top four is listed under the board. There are no ads and no account to make. It quietly trains you to think like everyone else.

Every game below hinges on what other people said. Games that reward matching the crowd come first, along with an inverted one where rare answers win, then survey boards like Crowdle's top four, autocomplete guessers, and a few that score you for answers few others thought of.

Common Ground

gamefinity.io · Trivia

Rewards exactly the instinct Crowdle trains: you jot down your first thought on each of ten prompts and earn a point whenever it agrees with the crowd, so predicting the popular reply is the whole game.

Uncommet

gamefinity.io · Trivia

Flips Crowdle's goal: across eight prompts you need answers that are valid yet unusual, and the less common your reply, the further your rocket rises, so the obvious answers that win in Crowdle are the ones to avoid.

Feudle

feudlegame.com · Trivia

The closest board: players answered a survey question yesterday, and today you work out their leading replies, with vote counts appearing as you hit them and three strikes ending the game, where Crowdle never runs out of guesses.

Vox Pop

voxpop.day · Trivia

Lets you feed the next survey as well as solve one: you answer today's question yourself, then hunt for the eight most common replies to yesterday's, with top-ranked answers paying more.

Majority the Game

majoritygame.com · Trivia

Five fast prompts, for instance a country in Africa, where you type the reply you think most people chose; being correct counts for less than agreeing with the majority, much like Crowdle's top four.

Noillirk

noillirk.today · Trivia

Puts a clock on crowd-thinking: seven survey prompts get 20 seconds each, and the more ordinary your reply, the higher your krill floats on its balloons, Krillion's idea turned upside down.

Wonderhop

wonderhop.io · Trivia

Splits a day into four survey rounds, one asking for the most common reply and others for the rarest, the oldest or the newest, each on a clock of roughly half a minute, so the popular-answer hunt is one round among several.

Google Feud

googlefeud.com · Trivia

Treats Google's search box as the crowd: a query is half typed, and you supply the completions it would suggest most, with a daily mode that hands every player the same starting phrase.

Searchle

searchle.net · Trivia

Predicts autocomplete too, but you type the missing words of a partly written search query, a fresh prompt each day, closer to filling a single slot than to Crowdle's list of four.

Roomio

playroomio.pages.dev · Trivia

Answers three yes-or-no opinion questions a day, then estimates the percentage of players who agreed with you, a numbers-based way to read the crowd that Crowdle approaches through words.

Eruptle

eruptle.app · Trivia

Each day a different player writes a list for the prompt, anything from video game weapons to thrash metal bands, and you work out what is on it, so the crowd shrinks to one person's picks.

Krillion

krillion.io · Trivia

Takes the rare-answer side: seven rapid prompts, 25 seconds each, where obvious replies hardly count and unusual ones carry you deeper, the opposite pull to Crowdle.

Rarest

games.cyber-jack.uk · Trivia

Gives one prompt to everyone, a vegetable perhaps, or words containing QU, and lets you offer up to five replies, each worth more the fewer people chose it, a slow, single-prompt study of the crowd.

Questions

What do Crowdle's hints do?

You get three per puzzle, and each one shows an extra letter of an answer you are still missing. Since guesses are unlimited, hints are for moments when you have the idea but not the word. Real replies that fell short of the top four are listed under the board, and related answers are grouped, so exact wording is not always required.

Who makes Crowdle?

PZL Games, the label of Perfect Level Games Ltd, whose other daily puzzles include 9 Words, Zanagrams, Middle Word, Headlines, Definitions, Sunflowers, Word Snake and 18 Words. Crowdle costs nothing and runs in a browser, with no ads and no account needed, and earlier prompts are kept in an archive.

Which games reward rare answers instead of popular ones?

Uncommet, Krillion and Rarest all reward the answers few people give, the reverse of Crowdle's aim. Wonderhop runs both kinds of round in one day, asking for the most common reply in one game and the rarest in another, while Noillirk scores you higher for the ordinary answer instead.
