What Noggle is

Noggle hands you a short list of written clues and a grid whose rows and columns cross several categories, and asks you to deduce which items belong together, each used exactly once. A few clues lean on a little general knowledge rather than pure logic, and its home site, nibble.games, lists it among the day's challenges.

How a round works

The page opens on a tutorial puzzle: three kids, Eric, Kenny and Stan, to pair with Spiderman, Batman or Superman and with the ages 5, 7 and 9, using four clues. Tap a cell once to rule a pairing out with ✖ and twice to confirm it with ✔. When the answer grid at the top is done, each of its rows and columns holds exactly one ✔, and the yellow squares are the ones that get scored. Once they are filled, the Ready to Score button grades the solve. Your rating starts at five stars, each hint costs one, and Start Over clears the board.
