What Reversle is
Reversle runs Wordle backward: the answer is printed on the bottom row, and the rows above it show only colored tiles. Your job is to supply real five-letter words matching each row's colors when checked against that answer, and to fill all four rows quickly.
How a round works
Four rows sit above the given word, and each is its own small puzzle. A green tile means your letter must match the answer's letter in that spot. A gold tile asks for a letter the answer contains, but not the one it has there. The remaining color bans every letter found in the answer. The help page walks through HONOR as an example, where SOLAR satisfies a row reading .O..R, and the FAQ shows with MOOSE that doubled letters follow the same rules. Type on the on-screen keyboard and press Enter. Repeating a word within one puzzle is not allowed. Version 2 of the site added an archive of older puzzles and a statistics page.
Good if you like…
- Crosswordle: Crosswordle poses nearly the same reverse task, a finished Wordle with its answer and rows of colors, where you work out guesses that fit each row; Reversle adds the race against time.
- WordAll: WordAll also hands you earlier guesses and their colors, but turns the logic forward: you name each of the four hidden five-letter words that agree with every clue shown.
- Fibble: Fibble keeps Wordle's usual direction but plants one false color in every row, so reading the tiles becomes a hunt for the lie, where Reversle's colors are always exact.
