Guides to daily games

Updated

The shelves and lists on this site cover every free daily web game in the index. The guides here are shorter and take a view: each one chooses a handful of games for a reason, says what each choice asks of you, and leaves the full catalog to the shelves.

Picks are never ranked. They are grouped by what a game is good for, such as a word puzzle about meaning rather than spelling or a sports game built around one league, and every one comes with a line on how it differs from its neighbors. Every game in a guide meets the same rules as every game listed here: it is free, it plays in a web browser and it needs no account for its daily puzzle. Links are checked every night.

The streak guide works differently. It explains why daily streaks break, from reset times to new phones and cleared browsers, and says nothing about a game that its own site or help pages do not say. New guides are added to this page as they are written.
