About Dejahue

In Dejahue, a single color fills the card for five seconds and then disappears. Your job is to rebuild it on a color picker: drag across the colors to find the shade you remember, and use the slider to push it toward gray if the original looked muted. When you think you have it, press Mix to lock it in. The name, said DAY-zhah-hue, is a play on déjà vu, since every color you mix is one you saw only a moment before.

There are five colors each day, and every player gets the same five, so your results can be set against everyone else's. Each mix is scored on how close it lands to the real shade. The palette is swapped for a new one at midnight New York time. Until November 2026 the game went by the name Paint Chips.

How to play

  1. Study the color carefully during its five seconds on screen.
  2. Drag across the picker to find the closest shade you remember.
  3. Use the slider to make the color grayer if the original was muted.
  4. Press Mix to lock in your answer and see how near it came.
