What TypeCircuit is
TypeCircuit turns a typing test into a shared daily event: everyone gets the same circuit of three quotes, pulled from video games, films and anime, and types them in turn while the page tracks speed and mistakes. The headline number is words per minute, with accuracy, typos, elapsed time and characters counted beside it.
How a round works
The first quote sits on screen marked 1 of 3, with five counters below it, all at zero: WPM, time, typos, accuracy and characters. Type it out, then carry on through the second and third quotes to close the circuit, aiming for the highest WPM you can manage while keeping typos down. Alt+R resets, and the settings hold themes such as Hacker, Amber, Game Boy and a light mode. Results can be shared, and Copy Full Results puts each quote's numbers on the clipboard as plain text. A chart icon opens stats for everyone's runs on the same circuit, a streak counter tracks consecutive days, and the site lists replays of past daily circuits among its features.
Good if you like…
- DailyType: DailyType is the closest match, one shared quote a day scored on speed and accuracy, but it is a single quote with one official attempt instead of a three-quote circuit.
- Quotesed: Quotesed works from famous movie lines too, but you read them rather than type them, naming the film behind the dialogue as more quotes appear after each miss.
- Quolture: Quolture also serves quotes from the screen daily, one from a film and one from a TV show, and asks where each line comes from instead of how fast you can type it.
