What Size It Up is
Size It Up, from Magnitudle, puts two silhouettes side by side and asks you to stretch or shrink one until the pair stands at true scale. One shape is fixed at its real size, and the labels say exactly what is measured, such as an adult male giant panda's height against a red panda's body length with the tail left off.
How a round works
The blue shape is the anchor and never changes. To size the red one, pull the small handle at its upper right corner, or pinch it with two fingers on a phone, and drag the shape itself to park it beside the anchor. Zoom buttons move the board in or out, and since both shapes scale together, zooming leaves your estimate alone. Press Lock In to see how close you came. Nearer guesses earn more of the 100 points per round, and five comparisons add up to a 500-point day. Pop Culture and Geography editions run alongside, and earlier games can be browsed.
Good if you like…
- Magnitudle: Comes from the same site and also trades on a feel for scale, but you enter a figure and pick its order of magnitude for a statistic instead of resizing a picture.
- Weighsies: Also sets one object against familiar ones, judged on a balance by counting how many everyday things would match a heavy item rather than by stretching a shape to size.
- Halfsies: Another eye-judgment test on real objects: you place a knife to split each 3D item into halves of equal weight, where Size It Up matches two objects' proportions.
- Amountle: Five rounds of visual estimating as well, though the question there is how many objects fell into a container, not how large one thing is next to another.
