What SteppedUpdle is
SteppedUpdle strings four Wordle-style words together, growing by a letter at each step from four letters up to seven, and gives you twenty guesses in total to spend on the whole ladder. A stage must be cracked before the next opens, so guesses saved early become spare tries for the longer words.
How a round works
The board lists the four stages with their lengths, plus a counter that starts at 20. Type a four-letter word on the on-screen keyboard and press Enter; the tiles then mark letters in the right spot, letters that belong elsewhere and letters missing from the word, the familiar Wordle scheme. A word outside the game's list brings up a Not in word list notice. Once stage one falls, the five-letter stage opens, then six, then seven, all drawing on whatever remains of the twenty. The help panel says a fresh puzzle appears every day at midnight, without naming a time zone.
Good if you like…
- Word Climb: Word Climb also lengthens the answer one letter per stage, but it starts at four and runs up to ten, and a single miss on any rung finishes the run.
- Daily Letter Hunt: Daily Letter Hunt also builds from five letters to seven, but each word gets its own six guesses, and the feedback is spelled out in words instead of tile colors.
- Wordamid: Wordamid shares the rising word length, stacking hidden answers into a pyramid that grows a little each row, each row answered through Wordle-like guessing.
- Squareword: Squareword also has you juggle several hidden words with one guess count, but they form a five-by-five square where every row and column must read as a word.
