Games like GeoGrid

Updated

GeoGrid is a daily country grid: nine cells, each where a row condition meets a column condition, such as Flag with horizontal stripes or Arable land under 20%. You get ten guesses, with an unlimited-guess option, and every correct country earns a rarity tier based on how many players chose it, from Common at 25 percent or more down to Mythical below 0.5. There are World and USA boards, an archive and live 1v1 challenges. The thrill is finding the country nobody else thought of.

Grids built on geography lead: flags, U.S. states and a board whose daily topic can be countries. Then come games that reward rare country answers in other shapes, from category boxes and a 3D globe to map pins and open questions, and finally that two-condition grid applied to anything at all, to words and to movies.

Flagdoku

flagdoku.com · Geography

The closest relative: nine cells to fill with flags, each meeting one condition from its row and one from its column, on things like colors or history, plus a search for one flag that would satisfy all of them.

Statedoku

statedoku.com · Geography

Matches GeoGrid's USA board in spirit: every cell wants an American state meeting two clues, for example having at most three neighboring states or being home to an Ivy League school, and you can afford five wrong answers.

CodeDoku

codedoku.app · Math & Logic

The topic changes daily, countries among them, but the board works like GeoGrid's: nine cells, two conditions each, and a short supply of lives instead of a guess counter.

Geozee

geozee.earth · Geography

Sorts countries the other way around: you are handed nine nations one by one and must commit each to a scoring box like island nation or share of people in cities, and a placement cannot be undone.

JordGlobe - Country Links

jordglobe.com · Geography

Eight country categories sit beside a spinning 3D globe, and every country you choose ticks off each category it satisfies, and you want to clear them all with as few picks as possible, a cousin of GeoGrid's two-condition cells.

Farflung

farflung.game · Geography

Five prompts a day, each answered with a country pinned on a map of the world. Every correct country is accepted, but uncommon ones take you further, the same reward for originality that GeoGrid's rarity tiers give.

Farhike

farhike.com · Geography

Each of its five prompts, like countries where tigers live in the wild, has plenty of valid answers. Your mapped pick lifts you higher the less often other players chose it, so rarity is the climb.

The Daily Atlas

dailyatlas.io · Geography

Rarity in quiz form: six geography questions on topics such as capitals, rivers, currencies and languages, each open to many right answers, with uncommon ones earning extra points.

Flag Connections

flagdoku.com · Geography

Sixteen flags conceal four sets, one of them connected to a spotlighted flag, and four errors end the game. Knowing details like the stripes and colors GeoGrid asks about does most of the work.

Anything Grid

anythinggrid.com · Trivia

Takes the grid off the map: categories can be about anything, any answer that satisfies its row and its column is fine, and a lower score from niche choices is the target.

Word Grid

wordgrid.clevergoat.com · Words

Language instead of geography: cells take words that satisfy two spelling rules, a starting letter on one side and letters it must contain on the other, and unusual words keep the score down.

Movie Grid

Sam Shulman and Alex Nunan · moviegrid.io · Movies & TV

The same nine-cell format for movies: each square combines conditions such as an actor and a rule about the title, and nine guesses must cover the board, for anyone who wants GeoGrid's structure in another subject.

Questions

How do GeoGrid rarity tiers work?

Each correct country is ranked by the share of players who chose it. Common means 25 percent or more, Uncommon 10 percent or more, then Rare at 5, Epic at 2 and Legendary at 0.5, while Mythical goes to answers picked by fewer than 0.5 percent of players, so an obscure but valid country is worth chasing.

Is there a USA version of GeoGrid?

Yes. GeoGrid offers both a World board and a USA board, so you can switch between the two. Statedoku is another daily grid built entirely on U.S. states, with clues such as how many states border one and whether it is home to an Ivy League school.

Can you play GeoGrid against friends?

GeoGrid now offers live 1v1 challenges, and you can share your finished board. It also lets you create your own boards, visit a community section, go back through the archive and suggest new categories, so there is more to do once the daily grid is complete.
