Daily flag games

Updated

Flag games come in two kinds, and this list holds both. In the guessing games a flag hides behind tiles, sits in a tight close-up or shows up only as a breakdown of its colors, and a wrong country often uncovers more of it, along with a reading of distance and bearing to the answer. In Flagle, from Teuteuf, that means six tries, one tile per guess and then bonus questions on that country.

The drawing and coloring games turn the question around. You are given a country and paint its flag from memory using a brush and a fill bucket, pick each part's color from a small palette, or mix the one missing shade with sliders, and your work gets a score for how closely it matches. A last group sorts flags into hidden sets, asks whether a design is real or made up, hides countries under fog on a globe, or asks for flags that satisfy two crossing rules on a small grid.

Most deal one flag a day, shared by every player. Guess the Flag and FlagGuessr switch at midnight UTC, which is 7:00 p.m. in New York in winter and 8:00 p.m. in summer, and Flagordle at midnight on New York's clock, and many add an unlimited mode for practice between dailies.

Flagle Game

flagle-game.com · Geography

Six tries, and each country you pick reveals the pixels its flag shares with the hidden one, all flags scaled to one shape. Hard mode removes the flag pictures from the country list, and a practice game runs beside the daily.

Flagdle.com

flagdle.com · Geography

FlagGuessr

flagguessr.app · Geography

A tight crop showing about a quarter of a flag opens out after each miss, with five guesses allowed and a hint naming the continent once you first go wrong. It belongs to the Stoop set of daily games beside CocktailGuessr.

Paint the Flag

Flag Fill

flagfill.com · Visual

One named country a day, its flag shown with a section left blank, and a color picker to choose what belongs there. The guess earns 0 to 100 for closeness to the real color, and a streak counts the days in a row.

GeoPaint

GeoRankle.io · georankle.io · Geography

Five rounds, each a real flag with one color cut out, which you restore by adjusting its hue, saturation and brightness; landing nearer the official shade pays more. A region menu narrows the flags, and GeoRankle runs it beside other geography dailies.

Flag Painter

mapsnack.app · Geography

Five flags, each with one color missing, which you mix with sliders for hue, saturation and lightness. Each result is marked from 0 to 10 for closeness, and each flag can earn as many as 20 points. Puzzles are numbered and dated.
